How to become a specialist member
Specialist members must have knowledge and experience of children with special educational needs and disabilities. Any new members will be appointed by the Lord Chancellor on advice from the Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC).
Members of the Tribunal are recruited on 5 year, renewable contracts. The last recruitment exercise was in 2003. When SENDIST needs new chairs and members the JAC will invite applications via the national press. We do not expect to recruit new members before 2009.
